Don't know why I'm bothering posting this as it seems you go against everyone's recommendations so clearly know best but hey ho
I use one of these

It's not necessarily how power full it is but the technique and tools you use and carpet material. Peugeot carpets are shocking they just hold every bit of muck going. But then again I am very picky. Iv spent 3 hours cleaning a little smart cars carpets before!
