Aussie XT owner looking to track day
#6
Thanks for that info on the 406 wheels guys, I've actually decided (reccomened by my mechanic), to simply upgrade the rotors and pads to high quality ones, and not worry about upgrading the calipers. He's also a member of a club, and has raced at a local race track up to 180km/h, for some hours without fade (on an mi16 so must be a comparably fast car to my 306), so I'll see how that goes.

On an unrelated note, today my car just started overheating for no apparent reason, got up to 130 degrees?!? just made it back, let it cool back down to 70 (normal running temp), started her up again, looked a wee bit low, added about 2 litres of water, then it rose and disappeared, but then it started spewing orange water up for a bit before it settled down again.

Last time I checked my anti-freeze, isn't it meant to be green? Something like 80/20 (water/anti-freeze?) Not that I've done it myself, might be putting this problem ahead of a new set of brakes I think :/ Reccon I should send it in tomorrow? Any other troubleshooting tips? Oh! Both thermal fans are running, so the 90+ degree switch must've kicked in, and the radiator on the top wasn't hot to the touch, so that's probably a good sign, it also wouldn't appear to be blocked as liquid went in and out of it :?
