If reliability is a major concern then I wouldn't go further then a stage 1.
If your happy to change a clutch then go stage 2.
Otherwise as with most old 306 DERV's things will go wrong when you start pushing them!
On the other hand, many of us have had minimal problems, if your kind to your car then it's not so bad but I get a feeling a lot of members on here actually try to kill their cars.
