you need a really thin screw driver keep cleaning it.
Also sounds stupid but you'd be suprised how many people do it. you are using a solud metal punch and not a old srew driver or chisel with a plastic/wood handle? as any thing with a handle will take out alot of the shock from the hammer making it alot less efferlctive?
