Had my interview.. Went REALLY well, such a laid back atmosphere for an interview, non of this 'tell me your greatest achievement.... whats your weaknesses....' etc etc
It was with the head of IT and their senior engineer. Both appear nice approachable chaps, they only asked me what i know about the company - id researched them well - seemed impressed, they seemed to ramble on a lot about their duties and what my role would entail. Appears to be a varied role, diagnosing any faulty computer/printer/scanner, basically any gadget that has an issue i'll diagnose then take the relevant action. They will also train me as far as SQL, HTML and any other programming language they will need me to use, not direct training as such but more on the job, learning as i go along, an i'd probably just read a book at home as things digest in my head better that way. They seemed more interested in my hardware technical ability as it looks like dealing with them issues takes time away from them dealing with software/programming/server maintenance types of jobs that are critical to them as they are a web based company
They were really impressed with me..... not sure why as i wasn't arsed at all but it meant i managed to get my points across; explain to them my ethos and general work ethics, what i'll be bringing to the company without my head getting too big, i also did well complimenting their set-up without trying to brown nose them too - i think!
As always, they have another 2 folk to interview - i was in a shortlist of 3 people, so they will be in touch if they want to take me on, fingers crossed now!!
