had to be done! 307 283mm ones would be the cheaper option as they are more common and don't have the GTi badge attached like the 306 ones do resulting in less of a price premium and the discs are cheaper than the 302's and they are easier to find as they aren't as rare due to the 283's being fitted to many more cars.
Don't get me wrong, all reports on the 302's are good that I have heard, its just the extra cost and weight that puts me off them
