Between 2 - 3k for a decent rebuild with some uprated parts thrown in there which you may as well do while it's apart. 60k is the average mark however these engines will keep going if they've been looked after like they were designed to be. This ones done a mixture of miles and kms so it's actually done between 70k and 80k miles, and is running sweet as ever at the moment.
They can just sh*t themselves with no word of warning but that's just part of the fun and the risk I guess isn't it
The RX8 engine 16B gave the rotary a bad name as this one did suffer from a lot of what people have come to know as the common problems of rotary engines. Where as the 13B was much more stable if maintained properly.
Only type of car where it's recommended you redline it at least once every trip... Try explaining that one to the police
