Well I can only assume you have some damn good tyres then? Its nothing to do with lots of bhp at all, I had the same problem in the 1.8, its to do with the fact that one wheel spins far too easily and without the LSD effect from ESP that one slipping wheel stops you making progress.

You don't need an LSD with less than ~200bhp going through the front wheels. ESP doesn't emulate an LSD in any way either, in fact it would just slow you down.
