Spent all evening planing this trip and this is where I'm up to.
I propose leaving Friday 5th April. The ferry from Dover to Dunkirk is best (less distance to the ring compared to Calais) and that leaves at 02:00 arriving at 05:00. So if Jonny and I leave Friday, could we crash at someones for the night? I am then thinking coming back Friday 12th April. The ferry seems to be cheapest from what I can find between those two dates. It will cost £90 (http://www.aferry.co.uk/ferrysearch/ResultsNew.aspx)
Then the epic road trip shall begin. Seeming as it will be early, there is not much point in heading straight there, so I think a few check points along the way. First in Bruges and then Brussels, before heading to the Nurburgring. That works out at 285 miles, approx 4 hours 44 minutes.
I have not looked into accommodation yet though, I'll do that tomorrow night.
Now that they have released the opening hours for the track, it all looks fine to me. We will have all of Sunday and a few hours on Monday and Tuesday. Price is 26 Euros a lap, however there are deals if you want to more. Here is a link to the relevant page : http://www.nuerburgring.de/en/angebote/d...leife.html
Now for the exciting part. Instead of going for the sole purpose of the Nurburgring, I propose an epic road trip through Europe. I've planned out the route of all routes. Once we have left the Nurburgring, we will go to the Stelvio Pass, the San Bernardino Pass, the Col De La Bonetto and finally Route De La Napoleon. They all look like absolutely cracking roads and are relatively close together. I've put it all on a map here: https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Dun...mra=ls&z=6
Total for the trip 2,007 Miles, 37 hours.
