You can do a decat on the floor with just axle stands in honesty...
You will swear, shout and curse, but it saves you £30... I'd take that any day...
In honesty, Diesels don't seem to rust exhaust parts half as bad as petrols, for the same reason as you don't usually see steam off a Diesel or water drips out the exhaust, yet you do on a petrol... They can be a little tight, but perseverance will get you there... I found that tbh, a ramp won't make any difference, it's a bastard wherever you do it...
