My Uncle drives an auto 525d......he only gets 35mpg from it! However it's really nice inside, and so comfy and well specced.
The Audi should be better on fuel, but will be wallowy and understeery just like every other VAG car, and not quite as 'nice' as the beemer usually.
Also, you're getting paid too much if you can afford either of those at 21.
