When I first bought my gti, first thing I did was a cambelt. Didn't replace the waterpump as buying the car had properly cleared me out but it did need doing. So anyway, 7 months down the line and I've had a new pump, coolant and stat sitting in my room for 5 months
What I want to know is where the bloody hell do you get the tool for adjusting the tensioner? I've done 4 gti cambelts since using a home made tool but its a bit fooked now. The 1.8 was so much easier as it was just a spring loaded tensioner yo could move with a screw driver. It's basically a square hole in the tensioner, too small for a 3/8 ratchet but too big for a 1/4.
