The cranks are pretty indestructible, I've NEVER seen a crank go... They're forged as standard and are beefy as hell, in honesty the entire XUD9 block is beefy, it's just the conrods that are shit...

You could look into the pistons, but unless you're talking SERIOUS power to the point where you're having serious cylinder head issues, they're not bad, I've never seen issues with XUD9 pistons in the past... It's not so much the strength of the piston with indirect injection, it's the heat difference and load on one small area which causes cracking etc, but they're damned strong and if you keep DHY pistons in, they've got a ceramic coating on top...
