Don't use WD40 as grease, it doesn't lubricate. It's only any good for freeing up stuff that's seized or rusted.
WD40, then copper grease, it'll be fine!
WD40 is for freeing them. GT85 has teflon, so doesn't dry out!
Copper grease is good to stop future seizing up, but not essencial...
