Ok I'll ask him what he's got but I believe the correct term for that activity is called 'plinking' and relates to shooting knockdown metal targets or spinners when every time you hit the target you heard a little plink - you don't get the same satisfying noise from paper targets Other popular fun targets are extra strong mints and the flying saucer sweets which are sherbett sandwiched between 2 coloured rice paper discs and you get a little puff of sherbett dust when you hit them.
Much fun in an adequate sized garden with suitable back stops like telephone directories or breeze blocks. Never ever shot with a fence as your back stop even low powered air rifles like the ones at a fairground can put pellets through a fence panel.
