What is the legalities of a bonnet exit exhaust in the uk?

Ive been looking for a little while online now and can only find guidelines or advice no actual laws against it.
The only factual information ive found on direct gov about exhaust systems is in relation to noise and testing that is almost wording mot'ers descreation. I'll state now mot's wont be a problem..
So what ive managed to find out is:
- noise (always an obv one)
- no protruding parts (burns)
- must be secure
I always thought there was an act stating that exhausts can not exit before any doors. Have i made this up in my head as honestly cant find it stated anywhere but damn sure ive heard of it

i think the issue will be noise and protuding parts i.e. pedestrian safety.

Im straight piped anyway so will be just as loud but does drive quietly off boost thanks to the mech vnt. Protruding parts wont be an issue as my thought was to have it flush with the bonnet anyway.
Its just the legality of it exiting before doors. I swear there was a law on it and cant find it

It'll fail MOT, you'll be sucking exhaust straight in through the blower intake at the bottom of the windscreen.
Exhaust fumes:
entering cabin - Major
causing a danger to health of persons on board - Dangerous
Like you, I've also read something about the distance it needs to be behind the cabin though. It's not part of MOT so I guess it's buried somewhere in the construction & use regs.

If you think for one second that a pipe straight from turbo out the bonnet will be 'just as loud' as your straight pipe all the way to the rear bumper... Then you must be stone deaf.

Back to the issue of protruding hot parts unless you go along the lines of that army 306 and run massive heat shields on every thing
