French Car Show 2017 - Donington - 15th & 16th July 2017
#1
Hi All,

French Car Show will return to Donington Park Circuit for 2017. Dodgems are back and camping is on site for both Friday and Saturday. Because the show is more central more traders are interested so there should be more stands and stalls than we have previously seen at castle combe. Saturday will have the same 15 minute and 2 hour track sessions. Sunday there is a VW show on (which is included in our tickets) and the FCS chill out day will take place on the infield. Once again the 306oc will have a stand so get your names down and any track time you may be booking!

For anyone who hasnt been before we all get our names down on the list and then stick BOOKED on the end when youve paid and good to go. There will be another thread for applications to appear on the front row of the stand. No stand allocation as of yet so no idea how many will fit on the front. For anyone going on track please add your track time below so we can try to sort out a stand space where you wont be blocked in. Everyone is friendly at camping and we usually have a burner on the go which we sit around to talk about french metal into the night.

Tickets
Show Day - £20
Weekender - £30
Weekender Camping - £40

OK I've spoken to mark and camping is adjacent to the circuit in donnington park farm house. 260 pitches and the website talks about a bar, restaurant and take out so looks to be well catered. Showers as well. Mark says the cap site is great and its all paid for etc. Only issue I can see is the noise from Midlands airport.

More details here. looks really nice and we can always pick a far corner. 260 pitches seems to be way more than at castle combe.

Camping on site should keep it super simple and if it's as good as it says it is then we should have a good time. If not lesson learnt and we can get our own place in the future.

Fires are okay as long as they are off the ground so I would expect Matts burner to be fine Smile

I've applied to have it off work and it's no difference in distance to here or to Combe for me so I'll show my face at some point.

Pretty pricey going for the 15 min session on track for £30 vs 1.5 hours for £55, think you could share the 1.5 or two hour slot with another person attending?
Im coming to this anyway as have only came to Pugfest the last two years, and have regretted not coming to this at least once.

Edit: No luck on this unfortunately.

Hey, sorry if I'm asking questions you've explained but I'm not 100%, would I buy the ticket from the group or the website link above? Never been to FCS or been to any car show as part of a group, I'm really interested in this seeing as I've just got my GTi6! Thanks for any help

Hey. So for most shows you buy your ticket yourself from the vendor. We have a list on the site so we can gauge numbers on our stand and then talk to the show organisers to get a big enough stand!

Im pretty tempted to go out on track for a bit of a try. Can't decide wether to just go for 15mins or be better to go for a longer session.
