After an hour of working in a lay by in the rain to get it straight(er) and a headlight fitted my new toy is home. Did just over 30mpg on the way home and dump valve noise is addictive.
TBH I think I might drive it like this till I get the new panels sprayed as it holds together fine, the headlight aim is good and there are no sharp edges.
I've taxed worse

Well, i suppose buying it pre crashed is less traumatic than crashing it yourself. Though that still leaves the option of writing it off thinking it's an amphicar.

Can't believe it's taken this long for you to find yourself in a scooby tbh, good plan buying it pre-wrecked.

I've already got almost all the bits here to fix it, there will be no moody insurance claims.
I can get a windscreen online for under £50 so I'm considering changing it myself

Just no Chris, please no.
Windscreen is up to 30% of the vehicle structure, your airbag system relies on it to function correctly.
I don't mind helping you if you buy cheese wire, primer & PUR but it's really not a have a go at home yourself job.. if you don't use the correct primer then the glue won't adhere to the glass or the aperture, it'll leak & create wind noise as well as potentially falling out.
I'm only offering as I have seen the consequences of it not being done properly & I know exactly how to do it the right way as I did it for a living
