my abs is Bosch controlled, so, do I need to fit Bosch calipers (x4) or will any brand do.
(I've some used Lucas waiting to go to refurb)

Any brand will do, ABS has nothing to do with the calipers as odd as that sounds. Smile

its all just fluid in a pipe so any brand will do. There are lots of front types but i think theres only one design of OEM rears.

Lucas...Bosch....Brembo.... AP Racing...if it fits, the ABS will be fine!

On a 306, going from Bosch to Lucas calipers will require new flexi brake hoses though as the pipe sits further away.

can i hijack this and ask how to identify my calipers so i can buy the right pads? I have a 1.6 ph3 306 meridian and the front calipers don't have any obvious markings on them saying what make they are

there are two rear calipers used, they need to be matched.

front calipers will have bosch ate lucas on them, most likely bosch on a late car.

best bet is to look at the pad shape.
need a part number? http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ and http://service.citroen.com/ will sort you out.

If it is Lucas calipers, it should say "LUCAS" clearly on there and visible through alloy wheels. If it doesn't seem obvious, it's Bosch. HOWEVER, most 306's came with Lucas calipers iirc.
