EGR disconnect/unplug on XUD?
#1
Done a bunch of reading & looking around, came across this

(10-01-2014, 01:20 PM)andywhy Wrote: If you want to disable the EGR, the easiest way I found was to with the ignition on and engine off, open the throttle to full so the microswitch activates and then disconnect the EGR plug. It'll stay in the last position it was at. I got a lot of power back by doing that but it only worked if in the position when the throttle is open.

Can anyone verify this works & if this is worth doing? Secondly, can anyone verify which plug & where it is located to disconnect?

It'd be cool to get a little more power from my D Turbo with such a simple & easy job! Rofl

Is it? The thread its from is talking about an XUD engine (http://306oc.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?pid=375935)

Blanking inlet & mani means blanking plates etc? I can't find any for sale anywhere. Is it a custom job? Itwasntme

This thread also talks about a plug near/behind battery to disable EGR on XUD engine

Hmmmm maybe so then, last two xud's I owned were early non egr engines, current one has it though.

There's literally thousands available on eBay dude

If unplugging them is a thing on the XUD's then you still have the possibility it's stuck open which unplugging won't help

Ah fair, that might make sense. I'm tempted to go try it! How can I tell if its actually worked?   lol I mean, I hope its suddenly like having an extra couple turbos, but somehow I doubt it  Rofl Rofl

I'd have thought that too, but...

Unless I'm doing something massively wrong or eBay is broken. Kinda strange? Undecided

Honestly, they all look pretty much identical and I'd assume it'd be the same. But I'm sure someone else can confirm
