my key won't go in all the way in the ignition barrel. I've tried clean it out with wd-40 and still doesn't fit. any ideas?

Wd40 won't help! it will make it worse as it will strip out any lube you had left in there!
For lubricating key barrels please use graphite lock lube!(eBay) or local locksmith suppliers I suspect you probs have a jammed lever or pin in there and the lock lube might help but it might not! Is it possible you have had grit or dirt on your key previously from work clothes pocket or laying your keys down? Got another 306 key to try? Doesn't have to be for your car as you won't be trying to turn it obvs! just trying for depth and lever operation! On some phases possibly all or possibly just 2+3 the barrel/ key ( microchip ) are linked with your ecu and can't just be swapped but I would wait til you get another few replies before spending any money on replacement parts! i tried my spare key and my brothers key and they wont go in either
