Lexan glass opinions

So just seeing what people thoughts are on lexan glass for weight savings.
£155 for a full kit seems good value for an assumed good weight save.

I don't think you actually save a huge amount on the windows themselves. The hatch window definitely but the 3/4s, not a lot. There's a bit of weight saving on the front and you can also save a bit on removing the mechanisms. Maybe 10kg of saving if you do all that? I've not measured it directly, just from my observations when fitting lexan to mine.

Looking pound for pound. 10kg seems okay for £150.
A carbon bonnet costs double that and cant save much more can it?

Just seeing what are the best ways of saving weight really. Seems cheap and easy to do.

I did it mainly for the look! Big Grin It's a reasonable saving, definitely. 10kg might be wrong, I honestly didn't measure them. I remember comparing the weight of both and wasn't that impressed, it's nothing like fitting a fibreglass bonnet or fibreglass boot.

It's not about weight loss, more about safety.
