Garage up and over door
#1
Hi,

I'm trying draft exclude the door to retrain a bit more heat while I'm working in the garage. I've already attached some foiled back foam type insulation panels on the back of the door, put a piece of wood across the bottom to block that gap and a bit of foam tape on the lip. What else can I do to stop the drafts?

The garage is on the side of the house, with a pitched roof. I have boarded the ceiling and put insulation above that, what has helped loads.

I'm also thinking about a heating, what would be the best, most efficient way to heat it?
I was thinking of using a small greenhouse electric heater to keep a bit of heat in there and to stop condensation and a fan heat to boost the heating while I'm working in there.

Along the upper of the back of the door some thin metal plate on the inward opening edge will stop the drafts.

Oh dear this was an old thread, almost two years for a reply then three after each other.

I put that draft excluder foam on the lip that goes around the door and some foil back foam sheets on the back of the door.

To heat it I use a fan heater and I've noticed the humidity is high in the colder months so I'm thinking of putting a low heat greenhouse tube heater to keep the chill off.
