MOT Stipulates it must have a backbox on.. most MOT stations dont worry too much so long as

A. the cat is in place
B. its not retardedly loud.
Given the choice between Niall and the sheep. I would choose the sheep!

Not much Jonny lol As little as possible, just need a straight through backbox really. Since the midbox is pretty much straight through anyway.

Is it possible to just cut the backbox off and weld a pipe in it's place? Contemplated this for my own car

Tose are you sure you're right on that?

I was under the impression it needs A box rather than a backbox..

So in theory as long as the car is in place & it has a box somewhere in the system, you're fine.

I just have a midbox, so yeah, bit of mis-information there.

It will pass, it just sounds like you need to find another tester TBH
