afternoon all,

im Tom, a 27 year old, Yorkshire-born engineer residing in south Gloucestershire.

Ive always been something of a PSA fan and had a few over the years

everyone likes pictures, so heres a few to let you know what im about

after a couple 1.1 saxo/106s my old AX GTi and ph1 Dtub started a bit of a passion for 80's/90's french cars ... i miss em both

the GTi got a little 'played with', then got a little bent and scrapped
[Image: IMG_20110724_124959.jpg]
so that got reshelled into

this was on the road for 18 months and has since become a bit of a forgotten project

whilst at uni i breifly had a 16v XSi
[Image: IMG_20111001_120637.jpg]
... and ive currently got a slightly smaller blaze yellow thing

not long ago, having blown up the TU5JP4 in my Mrs C3 i tried my damnedest to replace it with a 306, got close, but ended up with

see, close.

so failing that, i decided id just get one for myself
so i picked one up yesterday

a lovely (albeit scabby around the edges) 2000 Diablo HDi 'D turbo' 3dr
so far im quite impressed. it is already giving me naughty thoughts
it will be going into daily duties shortly (needs a wheel bearing first) and if it behaves itself for a few weeks (MOT due end of Aug) i may plan a trip to Pro Steve and a good tidy up.

so yeah, thats me. im an idiot that currently has a 106, 206 and 306 and a 16v AX that i really ought to do something with

.... and if im not under a frog .... or helping friends with this kind of nonsense
[Image: IMG_20120529_200752.jpg]

im in something daft and sweedish, this is my '87 Volvo 360 GLT

this spent the last year or so doing a 60 mile round trip to work in bristol and while it was very entertaining (particularly in the wet), the 28-30mpg was difficult to live with. heres hoping the HDi can do better Big Grin

Love the ax gt/gtis so much. Am desperate to find one that needs fixing up. Welcome along.

Also used to have a 340. Went sideways really easy and was comfy. Apart from that it was uneconomical and un reliable. A hdi\xud will see you well.
On a break from 306oc for personal reasons. If anyone needs or wants me most of you have my number and or facebook messenger
Thanks for the good times guys n gals. I might be back. Who knows.

Not much really, just preventative maintenance. i need to sell the 106 before anything happens, but im sure some of the procedes could be used for a remap Big Grin

The ax GTi was awesome, i really wish id just left it alone and kept it (It would have quadrupled in value too) my vario 340 was hilariously for a few weeks until it expired in a bang and cloud of smoke, that 360 really is worlds apart. the engine is the definition of bullet proof. I bought it having been off the road 8 years, it only took a flush of the tank and charge the battery to get it into life, a little bit more work on the brakes and it had a ticket then went straight to work doing 1000 miles per month

The DW is far more refined than my old XUD and seems like just the tool i need for daily services.... just gotta keep convincing myself that it doesnt NEED ~130bhp right this second Smile unless someone wants to part with 500 quid for a 1.6 xs 106???? Anyone? ... for a good cause Wink

Yes Vaughn, i still have your AX. Its probably looking quite sorry for itself now

It got used with the 16v engine, rollcage, coilovers, 4 pots etc until its mot ran out, then sat in my dads yard for the last 18 months or so. Its waiting until my partner finishes her PGCE and gets a job. then i can rebuild and continue where i left off

Thanks for the warm welcome chaps
