Just wondering what plastic have you used for your door cards and where did you get it from?

Thanks mate Smile and not sure what the plastic is, me and Ian (slamwagon) went halves on it

If you wouldn't mind finding out what it is and where it's from that'd be great :-)
Was looking at carbon but that's way too expensive, something cheap will do just to cover the door.

Wouldn't a set of B8's be better than that coilover conversion kit?

Not for track work, at least not imo having driven on a variety of both on track.

Didn't really wanna post them, but everyone that wants them are miles away.
I'll have to find out a price for postage.

£45 is what I paid as I wasn't sure if they'll fit in mine and £45 I knew I'd get my money back easily.

I'd rather them go to someone on owners that'll get the use out of them.

Ah sweet Smile seen those seats you got. They look awesome

Yeah I'm Impressed with them actually.
They're not the xl ones I was after but I'm not paying a extra £140 for the sake of 2cm.
But I fit in them just enough to be comfy, but I've also lost a stone in the last month anyway and plan on loosing more, so my motivation to loosing weight is making my seats comfier.

Yeah wouldn't be worth the extra, and well done Smile I'm after some buckets going to get a set of corbeau seats

Haha cheers. :-)

I was originally after corbeau they're really nice seats.
But originally I noticed these was only a extra £15 a seat. :-)
Don't know what mine will be like for track.
I'm keeping budget tyres on the wheels to wear them out and my brakes are good, but I'm worried about fade.

Similar to me, have budgets on then for FCS I have semi slicks to go on. My brakes hardly stop at road speeds so god knows what's it's going to be like on track

So took the 106 for its first track day yesterday and it wasn't to bad on track Smile but definitely has issues. Once the engine was warm it would idle so low that it would cut out. It cut out once on track, once whilst waiting to go out on track and coming into the pits. Only way I managed to get it out on track was to hold the revs at about 1000rpm when stationary to avoid it cutting out. Performed pretty well though kept up with a few cars but in need of more power.

So the engine is pretty unhealthy. Cutting out when warm on low revs, leaking oil from between the head and block and a bit of mayo on the cap.

So in two minds on what to do.

Could do an engine swap but don't have an engine crane or the skills currently to do one.

So was thinking of cutting my losses with this one and just get a GTi. I know a lot of people will say do an engine swap but I don't have the correct facilities to do it Such as a crane or a work space. Would have to do it on a patch of grass outside my house which wouldn't be safe or practical.

The reasons I'm thinking of getting a GTi is because it will obviously have the engine I want but it will have the full brake set up so I can put my new beam on and personally I think they look nicer.

Would like to just start with a decent setup then build on that. I could keep my pugsport exhaust to put on the GTi or get a different system and sell some parts off the current car.

I know a engine swap could be cheaper but it wouldn't be as practicle for me. I'm not to worried about the cost of buying another car.

Would love to hear some advice/opinions from you guys

Would you be able to afford the insurance on a gti? Might be better to stick to the 8v

It's strictly a track car so won't need insuring as it will be in a trailer when going to track. I have my 306 as my daily
