well that area now in the video is sunderlands main road and one of the most busiest roads. The ford dealers what was in the video has gone now, just plain waste land, all the industrial that was in that video. Is like most of them cars in that video, gone. Either waste land, a road or a housing estate. Just shows you how much has changed in 30 years! the 1st bit now has traffic lights and the rounder about is full of trees! in fact there is more trees now then there was back then.

To be fair, I would imagine that many towns have changed beyond recognition in the last 30 years.

Saw a nicely modified nova today.

ya fucker jim that's a car!
what is a common sight to see for you lads but is a rare sight to see now in sunderland, a 205 GTi in black! that was a real treat, as its all modern Nissan shite or some other shite like that.

I know the kid who owns it! This was his old mk1 escort 1.3 he used for hooning about in haha! He's got a s1 rs turbo with 350bjp too, was front cover fast ford not long ago
28-02-2015, 03:27 PM
another work of art! I would love to have mk1 and mk2 escort on drive!

just nipped out for a little treat for the family and I had a Peugeot 405 estate behind me, must be the only one left now sadly, as I haven't seen anymore, seen it about in the day. Its a very tidy example of a one, was a P Plate I think. so a very late registered one.

It's rare seeing any half decent cars any more, too many new shite boxs on the roads and hardly any interesting ones. See a few novas occasionally, someone in my town has a lexus ls400 which is nice but that's about it.

I've got a Sierra 1.8lx sat on my drive, it was a family members who recently pasted away, I know it's not a special model but it's done just shy of 42000 miles, needs a good clean, I'll get some pictures up when I get a chance

How often do you see a sierra now in general? let a lone a cosworth powered one. I have to say I have only seen two cosworth powered ones, in a spate of two years, and as for a original one now, you must be talking close to about 10 years now! Be worth giving it a clean and putting it back on the road as a retro classic.

If you look in the dictionary for the definition of "depreciation" you'll find a Citroen C6
They're meant to be very good in fairness, but the depreciation means that lease and purchase sums just don't add up compared to a typical German... and that's before you get to badge snobbery and the like.

Same with Peugeot as well (although I doubt their cars are any good to start off with)
The small hatchbacks sell by the bucket load, but a larger saloon or estate type car is like rocking horse shit.

I'd love to keep it but as we don't know it's value, it'll have to be sold in the estate, looks like we'll be keeping the bronze Honda hrv for back up when the Peugeot packs up

E34 5 series.
Used to have a 530 and it was a superb car. I'd be very tempted by a 535i Sport, if I could find one (E34 M5s are stupid money).

A lovely looking Lotus Carlton passed me on my way to work this morning
Still a striking looking car today that oozes subtle aggression, especially so in the sea of bland nondescript euroboxes that it was surrounded by. Makes me smile people actually using these rare valuable classics on the roads rather than letting them gather dust.

But that was an A series metro. |
