Spot whats wrong here
Yep, vacuum operated diaphragm full of oil and leaking air when I tested it.
Can't really say Id look forward to changing another anytime soon with how hard it was to access (very bruised and scratched hand and forearms lol) but all worth the trouble with how it drives now
The diaphragm is attached to a plate on the bottom of the cylinder head with all the egr pipes, air intake, brake lines, master cylinder, bulkhead etc etc in the way
Oh and I smashed the cat internals out the other morning, sounds quite beefy now :p
Job for this week is finding somewhere to subtly mount a boost gauge, as running the high boost map file with no way to monitor whats going on concerns me

The newfound torque has been eating my bottom engine mount to the point where the engine was rocking back and rubbing on the heater matrix pipes, powerflex mount purchased and fitted today, much better now

I heard there was problems with them rapidly deteriorating, but from the looks they solved that issue with the metal washers

i wouldn't count on it, i had 3 on the 306 and the two later ones had the big washers.

Oh right, I'll certainly keep an eye on it as I have the car on the ramp several times a month usually haha

Wallowy suspension was becoming a bit of a problem on faster roads, felt pretty unstable over 70mph so it was time for the ozonehostile running gear treatment:
Mandatory before picture
Got the car on the ramp, wheels off and out with the tin of penetrative oil, front struts off and immediately found one of the issues once the strut top was out
Probably the worst bearing I've ever seen haha.
Gave the metal spring cups a cleanup with the wire brush and painted, probably little benefit but nice to look at lol
Swapping dust covers and bumpstops trimmed to the new ride height over to the Bilstein shocks
Something very satisfying about new suspension parts
Front end all done
Rear suspension was a bit of a pain, have to remove the boot lining to get to the top of the shocks and incredibly fiddly to get the rear springs in with such a tight space to try get the spring compressor in but a few minutes of swearing and lever bars they were in
feels like a proper gt car to drive now, much firmer but still smooth, nice and flat around corners and feels much more stable than it did on the 170k old shocks it was on.
Picture of the new ride height once the springs have settled

New issue, chronic heat soak
So biggest dilemma now, less boost or bigger intercooler :p

All is well with the coupe recently, only hiccup I've had was a broken abs sensor wire causing the dash to light up like an xmas tree driving home one afternoon, the wire had come out of the clip on the hub and was rubbing on the tyre.
Thought it deserved a proper valet since its been so well behaved
Since the remap its being returning a steady 42.2mpg over two full tanks, pretty happy with that considering I was struggling to get more than 20mpg with the leaking diaphragm issue

So it would fek a 306 GTi6 over? As thats the typical bench mark when tuning HDi/XUD's.

Hmm it would be close up to about 80mph but I think the 6 would pull ahead slightly every gear and stay there, coupe has an extra 400kg or so over a 306

Why not strap a HX35 to the GTi6?

Took the coupe along to pugrun on the weekend since the gti6 wasn't roadworthy, but I certainly enjoyed it!
Nothing to report problem wise with the rolling armchair, still on the lookout for a crack free pair of bumpers but nothing urgent. Just nice to have something where everything works and drives as it should.

Aha definitely, it's getting worse every day to the point where entire streets of people turn to see what the noise is
Need something a bit more resistant to heat than copper grease as it only lasts a couple of weeks lol

Can you still get anti-squeal shims from peugeot for this? Failing that some proper brake grease should help.
