Bought this from someone a week ago, but decided am not going to fit it as may decide to actually sell the car.

Is this the one that bolts on the gear box? Like on the gear selector arm? If it is I'll have it.

Yes this is the one that goes on the selector instead of the gearstick.

I made a mistake dude. You actually put a post up before I got the message on 306 GTI forum.
