hi guys,
i know this has probably been covered alot of times but which one would you choose, i cant decide which to go for as i want another petrol in my life..
i have found a rallye for sale locally and am quite tempted but unsure if to go for the 6 instead as it still has the electric luxuries, obviously the rallye is more exclusive..
anyone any views?
thanks

Id go for a 6. A Rallye will always be the same value as a 6. Just look at the 206 GTi and Rallye.

It depends what you want to do with it, If you are going to look after it a rallye will hold its value or even go up (despite what Niall says 306 rallyes are going up in value). If you want something to strip, modify to hell and rag the f*ck out of then buy a GTi6 and enjoy having 2 electric windows as that is the only thing that bugs me about the rallye is not being able to open the passenger window while driving

I never said they weren't going up in value? They are going up! Just like 6's are.

They are better than the GTi6 price wise but there is only ever a couple hundred in it.

What do you it the look of colourise ? ?
Whenever I've had or wanted a car I've always thought of what I want or what I want to create/mod.
Rallye is a good bit of history and you may get strangers asking about it and showing appreciation.
My rallye always used to turns heads.

I'd have a rallye then put electric windows in
All the scene points and the comfort of electric windows
Or just get a phase 1 as they are phase win

Depends what you're using it for...
As a daily I'd want the luxuries of a '6! If you want something for track gotta be a Rallye, I just can't see commuting in a Rallye to be any fun at all lol. Both should be appreciating in value now, but the Rallye will always have the prestige due to the smaller quantity made. Each to their own of course, and I prefer spec over prestige any day!!

I like the Rallye more - it is a bit of a conversation point.
In the current marketplace however, just buy on condition. And don't get a Blaze one.

Rallye will be more of a conversation point and has a little more heritage than the GTi6, the enthusiasts know in reality there's no difference, but for some, the idea of a lighter weight, more stripped/hardcore car is quite appealing.
Though people going on about commuting in a GTi6 vs Rallye - MEH!? Other than your arse sitting on shagged half leathers vs cloth and electric windows, there's no bleeding difference!
If I were to get one as an investment, I'd get a Rallye...

As the a/c will never work in your 6 and most of the electrics won't either at this stage luxuries wise the two cars are indistinguishable. If you don't like black, cherry of white then you'll have to get a 6.
I've had both and had equal kudos and conversations with strangers with both cars. They both go the same as well... Only perk I did enjoy with the 6 tho was (as it was a phase 3) it had proper remote locking.
What dum dum says is right. If u wanna f*ck about with it a lot buy a 6, if u wanna keep it standard(ish) then buy a Rallye. Neither r great to commute (I've done it) but both r equally awesome to drive and great fun!

Mines a common as muck T reg
The thing I love the most about the Rallye is its exclusivity. Which is also the reason I like having a black one... although I do secretly love them in white!
Things I wish I had - Metallic paint and electric windows!
Also mine is my daily driver and only car.
The steering is heavy and the clutch is heavy and its awkward to get in and out of and drinks loads of fuel and you can't hear the radio over 70mph.
It does bother me sometimes but my last car was a 1.6 Focus Estate and it was brilliant but boooooooooooring.

Rallye swill be worth more in years to come as there where only 500 made, but I do like the little luxuries you get in a gti 6
