My daily's dieing a death and wondering whether to go for a 406 hdi coupe or 407 sw hdi as seem pretty cheap at the moment.

If you can find a decent hdi coupe then go for it, as a daily it's amazing (unless you want to have people in the back or anything bigger than a suitcase in the boot lol)
407 seem to suffer typical Peugeot build quality issues but if you can find one that's fully working and prepared to remove dpf then they're quite nice to drive tbf
The 407 coupe are really nice tbf, that v6 hdi is a beast but still fetching good money

A quick visit to Matt at work today has seen me leave with a boot full of parts, cheers dude you're a babe
Crap picture but got myself a new backbox to replace my missing one, new pas pump, new injectors, new multifunction display, new air dosers, new gear knob, and some silver door handles out of a silver&black edition. Hopefully aquire the centre console out of the same car too, brushed effect silver instead of the black plastic I currently have.
Make an attempt to fit everything tomorrow now I'm finished for Xmas

Today's little errand, rear caliper refurb (strip and grease)
Rear discs and pads, handbrake adjustment.
It's good to be able to park without leaving it in gear aha

Big job done today, finally fitted the brembos!
Pain as expected as everything is a different size, brake hose is wider so no clips fit without modification, hub bolts are different lengths etc etc
Much better driving experience now though, feels like a real car lol
Also changed a few bits from my haul off Matt, finally permanently solved my limp mode and power loss issue. Feels like I've gained 20bhp lol
Oh and I finally put the exhaust back on only a month after it fell off, apparently the turbo likes the back pressure, much more responsive now

Haha I was thinking that earlier, only one thing left to fix then it's a fully functional coupe and no doubt I'll get bored haha
Had a nice drive home today though, decent brakes and regained throttle response bring all the new balljoints and suspension work together and feels worthwhile.
New suspension next job

Oh nice
The 406 brembo s on a 406 never squeal because you use the 305mm disc so the 406 oc tell me
Is the pcd ok for me to use a 305mm disc with a brembo on a 306?

Is the pcd ok for me to use a 305mm disc with a brembo on a 306? They do squeal haha, but probably because the protective paint is still being burned off
I don't know actually, I might try one on the 6 when I next have it on the ramp.
Although I think fixing point of the caliper on a 306 hub would mean that the discs too big.

I've bust a rear shock this week so opportune moment to get some uprated ones and some 60mm springs on there :p
Also found that the Peugeot 3008 comes with 17" full size spare steel wheel available at £42 each brand new, plus a contact who can band them for a pretty decent price....
Reckon the coupe would suit a bit of low and dish

All is well with the coupe at the moment, finally fitted a new boost pressure solenoid from Peugeot that I was waiting for, really livened the car up which goes to show how f*cked the old one was, and for the first time since buying it, no engine management light!
[attachment=20925]
Got a new problem now though, kept blowing the top boost hose off haha, solved with a mikalor clamp though
[attachment=20926]
Mitch came over the other day and we whipped the aux belt off to check all the tensioners to see what's whining, aux tensioner was almost seized and the deflection pulley was also grinding so replacement of both has shut the whine up
NNext big job, new shocks and springs front and rear as I've got a knock and they're probably due a change after nearly 170k

Dreading adding up the invoices for what I've spent on this since September, at least it should be good for a while yet since everything apart from the engine block and shell is new lol

Bought some 30mm eibach springs that I'm still waiting for. Since they're developed for use on Bilstein shocks and have a million mile warranty seemed like the right choice haha

Been having some anti pollution problems causing constant limp mode and Christmas tree lights dashboard, solution? remove all anti pollution crap :p
FAP filter was pretty clogged up, the cat will be coming out on the weekend as I didn't have time yesterday morning before i had to go back to work.
Oh yeah, after owning it for nearly 4 months it's finally been remapped de-egr, de-fap 180bhp 400ft/lb file now in place, still intermittant limp mode that will be sorted when my part arrives from peugeot, but in the bits when it briefly works...... hehehehe
Next job, visit to longlife for a proper exhaust and fitting all my new suspension

I've spent so much on it at this point I just keep thinking about how nice it'll be once it's fixed haha. Only motivation I have with it some days.
I also have a high boost map but I think I'll get a boost gauge and make sure everything else works first, should see v6 power with that file:p

Yeah, 400 ft/lb sounds like a lot for 180hp... Although 400 NM is 295 ft/lb which sounds much more like it.

Yeah nm! My bad haha
These are 314nm standard so there's probably more to be had if the clutch can take it
The 180 map is only the stage 1 after all haha

Still having a problem with intermittent limp mode and after changing all 5 electro valves that could potentially be causing the engine management light and anti pollution fault, I hope I've narrowed it down to a leaking diaphragm (item highlighted)
All the boost side of things are vacuum operated so a minor air leak here will hopefully be the cause of all the trouble
