I've calculated costs for this so many times, and every time i works out just to much money for something that you could never make road legal / PURELY for fun. Darren don't, I badly want a 505 too and then get some Sierra bits on the rear end slammed on minilites with a rude XUD

I like a bx, just if I was going to invest in one it would have to be a 16v gti, not a fan of veg at all
I am seriously considering buying a 405 srdt (diesel with all the mi16 kit on) and converting it to a full hdi like uberderv did with that 205....

My understanding is that you could still run that on normal diesel as well?
Agreed though, gti would be amazing, as would a 405. There was someone on here who had an srdt actually I think.

I am a strong believer in veg not being good for an engine so would rather avoid anything that's been run on it if you get what I'm saying. Diesel for diesel engines is the way forward imo
Anyway, one of my car breaking mates knows of a hidden gem in the form of a top spec Citroën xm 2.1td, off the road for 10 years in a dry garage so I'll be going over to look if it's worth spending £500 on. Hydrolastic suspension can be a total nightmare if any of it has started to rot so that'll be the main thing im checking. Would love to find a xantia v6 or top spec 605 with the sports bumpers but I think the chances of that in the UK are very slim
