Big engines can be surprisingly cheap to insure as all of the small engine cars get crashed by youths!

Nice car mate, lose the tow sticker on the back though, unless its a full time track slag it looks a tad ghey.

Nice, What cars that?
Cheers! Thats the first thing thats coming off! Looks so bad!

BMW e36 323i coupe, selling though as the fuel usage is just silly and the steering is really disappointing! (plus parts are twice as much as 306 parts)
Getting a d turbo instead!

Good man!

Nice one, yeah that will be costing you a fortune!
Get yourself a GTI6 or Rallye Tongue
Nothing wrong with a 306 Diesel, still handle well and get good mpg if all set up properly Smile

Cars like beemers, audi's and golfs are generally cheaper to insure because the owner is more likely to take care of them, same with the gti6, it will eventually become a hot hatch classic meaning that owners will take more care of them, that's why they're not to bad on insurance.

From what I've heard a gti-6 or rallye wont be much better on fuel!
Yeah I used to have a 1.4 and loved the handling, so a lightly modded phase 1 dturbo will be perfect Smile

Id agree, it was a few hundred quid cheaper to insure a rallye for me than a Clio 172

Yes they wont be the best on fuel but as people say you pay for 'smiles per gallon', theres probably not many cars that can compete with a GTI6/Rallye for that
Plus I have a HDI if I need to get good mpg's Tongue

Adams been driving 6s since he was 17 but had to be on my insurance as his premium was stupidly high, until now he's 21 and his premium is lower then mine and I have 3 years no claims. Stupid. Haha

Insurers don't like young drivers in really low value cars as they are likely to thrash them to within an inch of their lives and hoon them everywhere.

Yes, but vehicle cost is a major factor.
Whilst most people are aware that very expensive cars cost more to insure, there is a point at which the car becoming cheaper also makes it more expensive to insure in a lot of cases.
