I'm guessing that the new fob is for the older IR (Phase 2) setup whereas yours is the newer RF (Phase 3) setup.

If its just the shell, you may find the guts will still fit inside...but you'll be left with a hole

My ph3 RF PCB sits very happily in a PH2 IR plastic housing, just looks a bit stupid and that's how it came with the car so....
until I get around to changing it!

My fob only works from next to the door about 1 meter range.
Do replacement fobs increase range much?

I haven't found a replacement ph3 RF fob case myself yet. Also been on the look out for a new complete key. Main dealer wants silly money for one.

eBay mate I saw a few ph3 not 2's...I need a ph2
Do you need the complete fob, if not then this will do http://bit.ly/VFfiZl the smokey old bus that sounds like a tractor...

I thought it's ph3 as it's thinner? There were lots if ph3's when I looked for a ph2 the other day..ph2's are harder to find now

So what about phase 1 cases?
They'll work in a phase 2 one?

There are no ph1, ph2 or ph3 fobs. There are IR fobs and RF fobs

The RF key fob does not have the little plastic window for the IR sensor as is it works on Radio Frequency not Infrared notice the difference?
RF: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=306+ke...B300%3B225 IR: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=306+ke...B400%3B300 RF ones brand new are hard to get hold of. Let us know how much the stealers want for a new case for the RF type, be interesting to know Just noticed you have a pic on the first post doh!

You can't buy a new RF case, its not listed as a part on service box, only a whole key, which is 80/90 quid last I checked 306oc Chat Wrote:15:30: Toms306 - :Genuinely thought it was gonna explode when I was playing with Sam |
