High Pressure Coolant

My 205 has real high pressure coolant soo high that the other day the coolant started coming out of the overfill on the header tank after running for about 5 minutes I then took the cap over the header tank thinking only a bit of steam would come out and a half meter high column of water come out !

So now Im bleeding it in hope thats what it needs

If not im going to do the head gasket this weekend

When im bleeding it iv used a upturned 2l coke bottle and its been running for about half a hour now - well enough time to be bled - but still loads of bubbles are coming through which leads me to think headgasket

The weird think is on all over cars iv had theres been mayo in the oil or oil in the water when the HG goes but in this there both fine :S

Any Ideas??

Btw its got a 306 1.9TD 199? engine in it

If you don't get trade anywhere then carpartsforless are very good, same as ECP but mail order only and cheaper

I get trade at camberly auto factors but just want to get it ordered and on its way plus theyll probably have to order it in

So the gasket im looking at is a FAI one Thickest one i could see

well i don't know but it does say head BOLT and below that fitted quantity 1 . . .:/

It said that on my top mounts and they came as a pair

Sounds like it's gone between an exhaust valve and the water jacket

im having same problem, just removed stat and rad cap until I do the head.

cars not my daily anymore fuel pump went the other week now headgasket so sorted out my beamer so will just wait to weekend also its not good to remove the stat especially in this cold weather but you probably know that .

The head gasket and bolts arrived today

I wasnt sure about the bolts last night and just wanted to get on with things so just bought ten of the febi bilstein bolts aswell and the other bolts come as a ten pack just FYI However they were 20mm or so shorten than the FEBI ones soo illl see which fit...
