OM605 Tuning

Hi all,

We at www.NoSmokeNoPoke.com have bought an OM605 Merc C250 Turbodiesel, and this weekend we did a few light mods giving it what must be another 40hp (they are 150hp stock).

Seems to have responded so well to tuning, and now our big estate barge is easily as quick as our Seat Ibiza FR TDi, with hybrid turbo and mapping.

Given it's worked so well - short of super-turboing it, does anyone know a good solid turbo upgrade for one?

We're on the hunt for a Mercedes Sprinter clutch too....

Seen quite a few from the netherlands with big Holsets on them, HX35's a few had IIRC

Are you looking for just cheap thrills or actually interested in tuning it?

cos you'd wanna get the supporting mods sorted first before sticking a massive turbo on there, big intercooler and big radiator first.
The HX-35 is a whopper.

You'll also need to research Holset turbo's well, there are many different varieties of HX-35 turbo so it's somewhat of a skill to pick the right one.

Properly tuning it is the ultimate goal... 300 - 320hp would be good.

Already got a big intercooler sorted, and obviously radiator if we struggle with temps.

Looked at the Holsets - but they are pricey....

Used to have one before my 306, great car Always felt a big intercooler, 2.5-3" straight exhaust and VNT turbo would of turned it into a monster.
