Eventually i will be fitting some challengers/vortex, was wondering about maybe having some brembos, now what size discs do people normally use? 288mm i think? What if i wanted to use the big discs from the coupe?

You'll need brackets to space the calipers out and at least 16" rims.

For me its not worth the hassle for an extra 11mm radius.

Go for Xantia V6 disks (288mm).

I always thought you could get Brembos under clones with 20mm spacers?

Bit irrelevant as he wants to use challengers/vortex and needs disc info.

Padge, I think the 307 xsi discs are 302mm...

Ive had the 302xsi brakes before and were brilliant, but wouldnt mind some 4 pot with 305mm discs, so if i wanted 305mm id need brackets?

Seems like a lot of effort to get 3mm more..

Why not just use the 307 xsi 302mm discs with the brembos?

They are no fatter. Its the diameter thats the issue.

288mm will fit with Brembos in factory position.
300+mm will NOT fit with Brembos in factory position.

Is 11mm (2.5% ) extra radius worth the hassle of fabricating additional steel brackets? No.

Trust the people who've already been there, we know.

This is what i have found out through trying.

I have 406 V6 Brembos with Xantia 288mm V6 Drilled and grooved discs, 15inch cyclones will fit with 20mm hubcentric spacers and longer wheel bolts.

On advice from someone on here that 206 GTI 16inch nimrods will fit without being spaced, i went out and got a set. BOLLOCKS !!!! what a load of shit, they dont fit. I estimate that a 15mm spacer will do the job, but i have had to go back to using the 20mm. Wasted a load of cash for nothing.....

Straight bolt on. The 406 calipers aren't very great though. Heavy and flex a bit, not as good as more recent brembos.
288 discs are ok but heavy and can squeal badly. Why you'd ever want to keep cyclones I don't know.

You need slightly longer hoses for the 406 calipers

Yes they do, I got braided lines from swampy on here.

I had issues with them screeching but found that graphite grease does the job. Why not keep the cyclones, the cars a sleeper.

Because you can lose 15+kg of rotating mass and get something that fits over bigger brakes more easily. I'm a gnats arsehole hair from getting 310mm pendulum Clio brakes under my compomotive 15s...Smile

Lol I'm lucky to get mine under 16" turinis. Have too much brake dust on the inside of the wheel and it touches the calliper lol

You need rotors/bells and and adaptor. A guy on the 6 forum had loads of kits made up years ago but they are few and far between to buy. Tbh having something made up your self wouldn't be all that difficult.

AdamB's pendulum motorsport brackets and bells+hispec 310mm rotor with renaultsport brembo caliper.

as you can see, with the originally supplied cap heads they wont clear.

but with a much lower profile hex head they should hopefully be fine, if not there's enough material there to take a bit off to add more space, appears some of the closer edges on the top surface of the calipers have already been dressed back.

the pendulumn bells are just over 8mm thick IIRC, though not sure on the additional offset they have, here's the clearance at the rear to the balljoint, not a lot as you can see, btu radially on the hub itself you could probably go down a rotor PCD easily and use a 300mm or 295 to squeeze the calipers in under a 15" wheel a little easier.

They are getting there. Am having to run a 10mm spacer but that's not so bad

Loads of space to the wheel spokes, it's the rim diameter I could do with having an extra 5mm. The calipers needed grinding for 16" 1.2s too
