Stupid wheel wobble!!
#1
Right then, as some of you may know a while back I had a mishap in my car, anyways since then I've changed my near side wishbone, driveshaft, tre, both shock absorbers, both droplinks and wheels balanced but I've still got wheel wobble! It's after 70+ and it's not as bad as it was but it's still there!! Also at high speeds, it's like I turn my wheel slightly and nothing happens like it's "lose" any ideas?

On another note, I got my driveshaft changed yesterday but now there's a knocking coming from that side, ideas?

You sure you didn't bend the subframe slightly? It all tracked up nicely and the TRE's are new?

The one tre is new, tracking is abit iffy ATM, if I'm on a road with camber it pulls bad but on a straight road it's fine.

As I say I had a new driveshaft yesterday, now there's a knocking that weren't there before and when I turn left it's more of a pranging, could it be possible that something weren't put back properly?

How will I know if I've bent the sub frame? From the rear all looks fine and I've had it in the air several times at several places and all looks fine

Have you checked for play since the TRE was fitted? It could be a case the rack has been buggered in the prang, and the play is in that. Grab the wheel at 9-3 when jacked up and have a wobble around Smile

Saying that though, have a quick read through that, my car is Choppin's old one and I am also struggling to get it into gear etc

When the tre was changed I never checked that no but this major knocking has only came on since the driveshaft was changed yesterday :/

Right people, help please.
Tonight on the journey back home from the other half, the knocking is now a grinding noise every time it turn left or right but it's coming from the left side! I never had this problem before the driveshaft was changed on that side, so what could be wrong?
I have spoke to the person who did it and he said come down tomorrow and he will have a look, I
Don't really want him to mess any further but I can't go to anyone else at such short notice really.

So what could this be? As it I'm properly worried something is going to snap as the noise does not sound good!!

I had a feeling it may be this as these weren't brand new so had a look, the bolts on the top were loose, both sides, passenger side worse then drivers side so tightened those up, steering doesn't feel "lose" anymore.
Near side top mount bearing is definately fubared!! So bought a whole top mount kit from Midwest for £22, hopefully tomorrow Smile

Then I will report back
