SOLD: 1997 Nile blue GTi-6 Pics now added
#1
Well, the time has come and my beloved GTi is up for sale..Changing to the RWD perv variety.. I'll upload recent pics asap.

Spec:

95% Of the bodywork is in VGC for the age (16 years old now!)

Completely mechanically stock apart from a cone filter (fitted in stock air box) and a scorpion cat-back (currently with de-cat fitted but have original cat too.. Original cat will be included in sale)

MOT runs out october but passed with no advisories last time and I have no doubt it'll fly through again (I'm in no rush to sell and if it runs out i'll re-mot it). Tax runs out at the end of November.

Factory fitted PH1 GTi half leathers, basically 99% mint, one small hole (maybe 5p sized on the drivers side seat but not even visible when sat down)

Stock stereo and clarion 6 disc changer

Recently resprayed ph3 front and rear bumpers, bonnet, grill and hockey sticks (pretty much completely mint bar 1 possibly 2 very small stone chips

Black masks

Good points:

Engine pulls very well and relatively low mileage at 118k

Cambelt changed at 108k (iirc.. will have to check)

Chassis is solid. Has a full set of arches so both rear pillars are as new as when they came out of the factory (no nasty surprises!)

Suspension is stock but still feels very tight and handles well

Recent engine temp sensor so fans kick in when they should (also done the A/C button mod so they come on when A/C button is pressed)

Michellin PE2's fitted all round, rears have tonnes of tread and barely look used.

Full service history up to the last one done by myself
Serviced with Oil, oil + fuel filters less than 2k ago

Bad points:

Tiny amount of bubbling drivers side rear quarter right where it joins the bumper but it's not changed since i bought the car in april 2012

Slight 'cracking' in the lacquer that can be seen at the right angle in the light on the rear quarter drivers side, note though that when polished, waxed etc.. it's only visible if you look very hard in direct light

Previous owner has opened the drivers door into something at some point and it's split the paint at the edge of the door (worst part of the car)

Slow'ish cranking, has never failed to start even when left for over 2 weeks. Hasn't been an issue.

Passenger side tyre is getting a bit low on the outside edge (roundabout tyre) but is still completely legal and about 4mm across 90% of tyre. Alloy also needs refurbing ideally but as the other 3 aren't bad i was considering just replacing the alloy and keeping it as a spare

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've probably forgotten a few things and I'd like to think I've been fairly 'anal' with the 'bad points'.

I'll upload recent pictures soon with pics of the 'bad points' so you can judge for yourself.

Looking for £900 which reflects the short MOT

Please don't comment in this thread unless you are genuinely interested, thank you.

slight line in the lacquer.. barely noticeable though

the cracked paint on the door

almost slight scratching of the lacquer, again when its waxed and polished you can barely even notice it

If anyone has Andy for secret Santa...get him a car duvet as it will spend a while snuggling under it lol
