		Fail.
Driving along in a 30 zone, car just literally gives up, no power, coast over to the side of the road. Had just driven 60 miles.

Car turns over but no joy. Got a p0230 fault code (wasn't too far from home). I presume the lack of priming from the pump is to blame.

Anyone got any clue which wires are which on the pump? Want to check the voltage first before ordering a pump.

Edit: LP pump primes on P2 ignition doesn't it? i'm not suddenly losing my mind..

I'm sure it does, I just don't assume anything when this sort of thing occurs. It's in my nature.
I know it does on a Rallye, I drive one :p

Dont forget to check the brown relay, behind the battery, that sends power to the lift pump

Thanks for identifying the relay, think I have a spare in the garage.

Need to check electricity gets there too, I guess before it starts it is only supplied for 10 secs?

		Edit,
must've been a dicky connection. I get 11V at the pump, which is about the same as the Rallye gets so it must be ok. Pump's gotta be dead I guess.

The terminal of the multimeter must not have made contact. I do get voltage at the pump now, 11V, but there is not a sausage from the pump so it's making no attempt to prime. Eish. Off to ECP for £ra*e

That sucks, we were only saying the other day about the cheap motoring / reliability, reckon we jinxed it?
Hope the Rallye doesn't let you down today!

Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

All sorted by the look of it, new lift pump and she started on the button. New lift pump is quiet as a mouse, thought it wasn't working at first but it's so quiet you can barely hear it over the fan!
Luckily ECP had one in stock in Peterborough and it is identical to the one that was fitted. Just got to tidy up my mess now lol. Suppose 260390 miles wasn't a bad innings!

 Cheers for moral support lol.

Yeah she is my daily and I work a fair distance away, so called my boss last night and took a flexi day.
I checked the wiring first, then popped to ecp in the rallye. Have just been to the scrap yard to pocket some brown relay strategic spares lol.

That's good going. My first failed at 140k and I've just replaced the second at 306k. The second pump didn't fail, I found fillings in the last fuel filter change so changed in case.

Meh, I think the gold filings thing is largely a myth, i'm yet to be convinced.
When I did the first fuel filter about 8 years ago there was a couple in there, think the same ones are still in there!
