Hi folks.
I'm new on here but I've read quite a bit already and the knowledge on here is unreal. Maybe I'll be able to pick a few brains and raid a few sheds as I turn my new love a 98 Diablo 306 1.9td lx 5dr mule into a racehorse.
I work in a huge car supermarket in Derbyshire and sell and see really new cars all day. They are so soulless. I love my 306. It's a tryer, a fighter. I love it.
So, it has a Lucas pump and a T2. I've done the stage 1 tune and popped a decat on there and I'm now at 18psi with the wastegate fully open and boost controlled by the fuelling. I get a nice haze on full boost and no smoke. I don't really want the smokey look. As I burn past I don't want them thinking its about to blow up! I got some front gti6 shocks and lowered it 40mm, back end to be lowered to match very soon. gti6 front brakes also added. 2 sets of cyclones but I've seen some Mi-16s and I might not be able to resist them.
I now feel that the car is being held back by the pump, and I may aswell go for a bigger turbo at the same time as putting the Bosch pump on. I like the way the T2 spools up, especially since the decat went on now at peak boost at about 2.2k so I'm shying away from the TD04 as they need revving hard right? So my 1st question would be which sounds the better option turbo out of the T25 or GT2052s (are they both bolt ons?) and second question 9mm or 11mm pump?
Any advice appreciated.
Nice to meet you all. PC.

Welcome
If you want simples, TD04 has to be the one
You can pick up ready made adaptor plates + a turbo for cheap and you're away. They're completely and utterly drivable, and when you get on full chat they pull like a train.
If you're a bit handy and don't mind making up some plates, crack on with a newer turbo, look out for anything on a modern-ish diesel running the kind of power you're looking for.
They'll be a bit more expensive, but have a look around and see what you can pick up - you might be surprised.
T25 is pretty old tech nowadays tbh
Grab yourself an 11mm pump for sure! Teddy has one for sale atm

Get a newer turbo on there, look at the GT series turbos or even consider a VNT.

Thanks for the welcome chaps.
I'm thinking I want a 9mm Bosch and after more reading I'm going to give the TD04 a bash 1st as so many use it. (Can't all be wrong) I'm just taking things steady to start hence the 9mm. Want to make sure the motor will take the extra revs. Can a 9mm be upgraded to 11mm at a later stage or is it a pump swap? I doubt ill need to though as i don't need it to be as powerful as possible I just want to make it a good daily hoonmobile. I think it's nippy now so can't wait till I've got the bits on it. I'm going to the parts section now and then Ebay to see what I can find!
