Hey Mark
Really glad you got a project thread up especially with a ton of decent photos, shows what a lot of work you've put into this.
Absolutely love the idea of a VNT blow 206, must be a proper pocket rocket
Glad to see someone else rocking the GT22V too, some serious fun to be had.
Get it breathing right, wind the boost up and you'll be away!

Thanks Will be something to look back on
Had a look at the 'breathing' situation last night and reckon we can fabricate somthing to keep it looking OEM and sleeperish. Though I really need a bigger intercooler.
So with that in mind the next few weeks, bigger cooler, air filter setup and then the exhaust

Right, after a bit of thought on lowering (which I thought I would never do) I decided to drop the rear end a tad, and I have also fitted the coilovers so it would be rude not to.
Never lowered anything before I seeked out the help from the cornish lad. So drove off down there on Sunday and backed the car into the workshop.
Wheels off and started wire brushing the shiz out of everything and spraying all threads with penetrating fluid.
Anti-roll bar came out relatively easy but we faced the issue of the lower shock absorber nut and bolt. The grinder came into play.
Managed to get the eccentric washers removed and got the bearing puller out and setup. Got the trailing arm to then slide off fairly well.
Notice the quad wheel used to prop the trailing arm up.
On inspection of the bearings they were all still complete and the beam itself had no wear in it which was a bonus.
Got the arm propped up
Started taking the driver side apart and Ruan rolled up in his new Volvo estate, provided entertainment with turbo noises as per usual (which made my day, I might add) and cleaned up my torsion bars and various bolts. Also Chris racked up in the landy and as always, useful to have to help.
The torsion bar would not release on the drivers side, we even removed the whole trailing arm which meant taking the handbrake cable off and disconnecting the brake line. The inner bearing did decide to fall apart due to having to smash the arm off with the hammer (puller wouldn’t work on driver side)
Annoying the torsion bar still didn’t want to let go despite using a ‘farm spec’ sledgehammer on it.
Started putting it back together and with the other torsion bar in we still managed to lower it the desired amount of 30mm.
Connect all the brakes back up and put the wheels on and this is how it sat.
And one of the helping hands. Kudos to all for helping.
With the front dropped a little more
Popped up to see Frosty's progress on his DT, was in the middle of removing his turbo. Offered to check the tracking on the 206. Then spent a bit of time removing his turbo for installing his EGT probe.
Still things planned....just waiting for Mr Postman.
Thanks for Reading

Substantial amount really, does feel a lot more stable in the corners. The 206 is pretty bad on stock suspension...really leans over I found. Could of gone lower but some roads I have to go down would be an absolute pain. I think its sitting all right for the moment.

You feel my pain!
Sorry to be totally off topic, did you ever end up lowering that 205's standard beam?

Nah didn't really have the car long enough to do much to it. Just fitted the GTI interior was pretty much the only modification I made.

Cheers lad for the comments, technically its still badged as a straight derv as the badge on the back is 'idi' only thing that would give it away now is the lows and the rear window decals and I would fit a disc beam if one came along but I have a few extra bits to do first.
Haha yea spent a bit of money there on the turbo and studs (which I try not to think about) was originally just going to put a standard engine in and drash on. Coilovers fitted fine, just had to consult Ginges guide as I wasn't sure how to fit the top mount bearings (reused the old ones - they seemed fine)
30mm seemed about right, will help when I actually get the right sized tyres on the back - but I have a few more purchases to make first.

Little bit of an update.
After realising that the intercooler, I was using, wasn't up to the job I started looking around for another alternative. The obvious route was twin pass as I have a decent amount of room up beside the left of the radiator. So anyways....I found one.
Started mounting it up with some random bits of aluminium strip
Side view
and also secured from the bottom (bent this one in the wrong place)
Next thing was to sort that air intake I was using as pointed out many times it was too restrictive. So engine off it's mount.
Not wanting to run de-filtered I made a hole
Filed it up and wrapped some silicone pipe around
And ran some flexi pipe through (courtesy of Frosty)
And stuck a random mushroom filter on the end
Next up was the slimline fan (due to reduced room thanks to the intercooler)
Bodged in, but suprisingly secure
Turbo Exhaust gasket made up
Powerflex Washers fitted
and started connecting pipework
Don't look too closely at my screwfix special jubilee clips (desperate measures)
Behind the bumper
Cleaning previous coal off (the day leaving for forge)
On top the hill with a semi broken 306
and parked up between a couple at Forge
Stole from Carlos (thanks )
On the way home things started to play up, namely the fan stopped working (so when sat waiting for Ruan the temps got rather warm), blew a boost hose off (my fault for not beading pipes), radio stopped working and now severe loss of boost. Haven't looked into it in too much detail but all pipe work looks fine. After working on it every evening for the last week or so I'm having a time out away from the thing and catching up on other bits and pieces.
Not sure where to go with it now apart from try and get it back working again.
Comments (good and bad) are welcome.
