G.I complete HDI engine
#1
Just gauging interest got the hdi engine competing out the car soon will be complete with every thing alternator/power steering pump/ turbo, hp pump, injectors (fully refurbished 4week ago)

S would any one be interested in buying it as a lot?? Say £150 complete or £180 with gearbox

Or if enough interest will break it in to bits? (if I do this the rods won't be for sale Wink )

Youll be lucky if you find any 306 injectors that dont tick mate, thats why I got 072s from a 307.

Mine are nearly 160k and are fine, although they could of been changed in 2005 when the last owner spent £2900 on it in one go!!

You can get them refurbished for under £100 in that solution. Some guy does a service, you send yours off he turns the round within a week and sends back. Someone on .net has done it and im sure gareth7 has?

Chris cant believe you sacked the HDi off buddy!!!

Give over, in all honesty the hdi is a lot stronger and more refined by far.
Ive had several dts and while I prefer the spanner tuning I much prefer the hdi engine.
Every one of my xuds pupped headgaskets, this one has been no trouble whatsoever apart from a wheel bearing and the rear beam!
No brainer really.

I've never had a xud pop a headgasket, never thrown a rod the engine's have all ways been extremely reliable, hdi's had electrical problems, hp pump brakeing etc etc but I'm not say the hdi is crap by no means as there a good car just not for me tho

I'm with Simon. Ive had hdi and dturbo. Dont get me wrong I liked both for different reasons. Just I feel hdi is less work. Never let me down. Where as the dturbo was a case of paying it will stay and keep going which it did but want for me.

Youve not ran one long enough for the oil to blacken dude!
ive never had a rod go either but headgaskets are a common problem with them. Youll notice "team orange engine bay"
