Right, bear with me on this as i dont know what part i need, i just know where it is Its on a ph2 LXTD.
Sometimes my aircon green light doesnt work which means the heater fan doesnt work either. To make it work again I have realised I need to wiggle a little brown plastic box to the upper left of the fuse box, it's set around the fuse box like the indicator relay etc is.
Is the brown box a relay for the aircon/heater??
If it is a relay would anyone have one I could purchase?
I bet cully does in his outdoor playroom

Sounds like relay but I can't remember a brown one inside my ph3! I can check if I've got one in my parts boxes tomorow though.

It's sort of brownish colour, middle/left of the top of the fuse box.
Cheers tom, Ill have a look at the car tomorrow, I swear its brownish and it's around relays so I'm guessing it is?

I have -
3 Green
1 Black
1 grey
1 Orange
Only brown I had was in the bay.

two or three choices now!
clean up the terminals pinch the connectors tighter fingers crossed it fixes it! (bodge)
or
replace the green plug
go to the scrappy cut one out of another car and crimp into yours or cut yours out
or
cut you green socket off and crimp connectors that push onto the relay
to remove the green socket push green tabs (red arrows) and twist (yellow) clockwise and push out the back of the board

yes i do have some relays but i need them for kayleys car
and its normaly loose/bad connections that cause burning like that over time
its quite common on older cars to find this on removable plugs and relays supplying higher current items
oh and green sockets normaly have green relays

no sorry don't have any loom sockets i used my last one for air horn relay
there are two versions of the green relay 5pin(2pole switch) 4pin (1pole switch)
both fit the same socket
the brown relay is the same as the green 5pin relay except its polarised +/- coil and has a transient spike suppressor to stop inductive spikes killing electronic controlling systems

So brown it is then?
I have just unplugged the fuse box and removed the green plug, that burnt connection looked loose, so tightened the connection and fingers crossed as I'm about to reconnect the battery lol

Just had a look at a Haynes manual and pre 97 car is a 5 pin relay, post 97 is 4 pin but MYA is 97 (on the change from ph1 to ph2) ...so...
if the wrong relay is fitted will it do electrical damage or will the fan just not work?
