Manifold heat wrap

I was thinking of just using a heat deflector plate
this has made up my mind...........

Youre stock manifold wont like the heatwrap mate... will rust and eat away your manifold

Putting a gti manifold on and those were my worries!!!!
decided instead to fab up some deflector plates and get a cold air feed to keep things a little cooler,(I hate bonnet raisers with a passion) failing all that I could heat wrap
the coolant pipes if they run really close....

Not read the thread but - there's little point in wrap IMHO unless you're really suffering from underbonnet temperatures, you will not see any discernible performance increase from it, however you are much more likely to crack the manifold etc... There's no real need for it on a stock engine for certain.

No, the reason I was thinking of wrapping was simply to stop
the manifold from melting things.....

its not a stock motor, but power gains were never part of the idea.......
