Anyone else here collect old consoles? Thought I'd stick up a thread seeing as I've just had a shipment of Mega Drive games off eBay and have spent most of my day off playing Streets of Rage while wondering why I don't enjoy my Xbox 360 as much as these creaky old machines...
My current collection:
Sega Mega Drive x2 (1 with Mega CD and 32X)
Sega Master System x2
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast (broken)
Nintendo NES
Nintendo 64
Nintendo Gameboy x5 (various, original, pocket, colour, advance etc)
Atari 2600
Atari Jaguar (broken)
Sony Playstation
Panasonic 3DO (broken)
NeoGeo (broken)
Got a few empty spaces in my collection, really want a SNES and a Gamecube, and I want to get the broken ones fixed... Anyone else?

Jealous. I would love to play on some of the old consoles but none of the tvs in the house will even work with them now!

You'd be surprised mate, got my Mega Drive hooked up to a 3 year old 42" plasma right now
Cost me bugger all to collect all those as well, the best bargain was my NES, £28 off eBay in its original box with 2 controllers, a light gun and 2 games

Got a PS1 for Christmas 2011, because I asked for one, not because my parents are tight Was given a Gamecube a few weeks ago by a very nice person on a gaming forum I frequent. Came with a wavebird controller which is excellent, just like I used to have, and been having a go on Smash Bros and Harvest Moon.
Pokemon Colosseum and Mario Sunshine are next on the list.

I was never really interested in the personal computer type games consoles, I got given a C64 not long ago but gave it away again, never really enjoyed it.... You got one? I have got Paperboy for the Master System though

This. My Gamecube is hooked up to my 42" LCD and it looks ok. PS1 is on the smaller TV though as will look poo on the big screen.

All our TVs are only digital so cant use the ariel connection, HDMI and HD composite. However i might be able to plug it into my av receiver if i get the right adaptors.
God i miss the days of having to blow out cartridges just to get them to work for 5 minutes!

That was my first "games system" and its still in the attic with literally a bin bag full of games. That was the best thing about them, just bang them in the tape player and record them. Lol
Ive got loads mate, dont really play on any except the n64 now and again, just for golden eye obviously.
Also got a boxed vextrex if you remember them? Bet its worth some coin now as they are pretty rare.
Got
N64
Megadrive
Spectrum
Saturn
Dreamcast
Ps1+2
Cube
Vextrex
Mastersystem
Snes
Nes
And the 360
Dont even know if they all work anymore, not had them down for years

Do they not even have SCART? That's how my Mega Drive is connected. As for the blow the cartridge trick, one of my new games (Flashback) didn't work initially, quick blow on the connectors and it's fine

Lucky b*stard! Always wanted a Nomad!
I've dabbled with emulators but it's not the same for me

That's a pretty sweet collection! Is the Vectrex the one with the built-in screen? Bet that is worth a few quid now actually....

Nope no scart connectors. My tv is LED and i think a scart connector could actually be thicker than the actual tv its self

Just couldnt bring myself to get rid of them, just end up in the attic.
Yeah its all built in and the controllers are in a draw under the screen. You had to put like plastic sheets over the screen that showed the score etc! Lol
Just looked on egay and they dont seem to be fetching a lot tbh!

Still looking for a decent priced boxed one myself, it's weird that I don't have one because to me it's the best console ever made...
Still my favourite Mega Drive game

I could swap you a Master System for a SNES or Dreamcast? Got 2, both in original boxes and both original Master Systems, none of that modernised Master System II crap
