Is there any other sort of exhaust joint sealant that can be used instead of exhaust paste? I wan't something i bit more flexible for my downpipe, but can't find anything that can take the heat.

no exhaust paste will be flexible...
why is your flexi blowing?! Wishes for more power...
Think you mis read it, the flexi is fine, but I need something for the v band connection off the turbo, but I hate the exhaust paste, can never get it to apply properly!

because I basically wanted to put a bead around the turbo flange, let it set slightly then clamp the elbow to it to make a nice seal.

any flexible seelant is usually silicone based so it will jus melt eventualy better off having a hard time with the exhaust past and it working then having an easy time and it lasting a day

try some dum dum, no not chris as he isnt very heatproof or spreadable, but this stuff:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dum-universal-se...B004PZQOF6 it sets rock hard but if you ever need to get the two halves apart again just smack the join wiith a hammer and it shatters so piece of piss to remove again
