Calipers. I ordered some HDI pads but they are too small for my calipers the pad area is smaller and a different fitment. The car had been lowered before i got it and also had a 23mm master cylinder on so i have a feeling it has had the brakes changed but i don't have the discs to measure anymore.

Is there anyway to tell? There Lucas calipers

The 6 ones have 57 stamped between the fun bits above the piston on the caliper.

There are different pads for 266s (lucas or Bosch), you sure you got the right ones? GTi calipers do look a lot bigger than 266s even without them next to each other, should be easy enough to tell.

not sure tbh i just ordered hdi mintex pads will look at calipers now
They have 54 stamped on

IIRC they're brake cylinder sizes mate, sounds like the smaller calipers.

Kyle, do the pads you have, have round 'ears' rather than the square 'ears' that you need for your Lucas calipers? I hope that makes sense! lol

Lol, well this is what I mean -

Not my pic, but the top one is the Lucas 266 ones that you need. The middle is Bosch 266s (usually found on pre X reg 1.8s/XSis afaik) which i think you may have bought. No idea what the bottom one is from, but its not what you'll need anyway.

Listing is wrong as GTi's never shared Derv pads, Only some Xsara 110's did from a couple of have seen
