Grey plug

I recently changed my heater matrix, had all the dash out. My speedo odometer and rev counter wasn't working before that. But was just wondering if this could be the cause, their is also a brown plug unplugged under there. Just don't want to take the dash out again for no reason.

Is the earth in the footwell ok? Iv got a brown plug unplugged on mine but has been like it since i had the car and no problems

Where abouts is the earth lead?

Likely a fuse that's killed off your clocks tbh, as opposed to something you've disturbed unless you've snagged a wire on the clock looms.
