Mine did this a while back mate, turned out to be the relay.

Where is the relay located ?
05-11-2012, 04:36 PM
By the fuse box under the steering wheel mate........it's the orange one top RHS

Not a clue mate, I'd ruled out everything else when mine went but there was no power getting through to the screen so changed the relay and it sorted it........got mine from a breakers for pennies.

Digging up an old thread but this is now one of the last 3 things that need repairing so I wanna sort it out
The switch lights up when depressed The relay clicks when I press the switch Can anyone tell me where the connections are for the window so that I can check if its getting power I can't see them anywhere

check the fuses as the heated mirrors are controled by the same relay and door looms break shorting and poping the fuse

The wiring connectors for the tailgate are actually under the roof lining near the back, might be a bad connection there somewhere.

Oh right ill have to look there then where are the ones for the strips in the glass though

Erm, follow the lines lol, they've gotta be at one end somewhere! Its easy to see on SRowells as his had a new window, looks like they bent some of the metal to get to the copper ends.

They arnt on the glass anywhere I can see unless they are below the plastic panel at the bottom of the window

Hmm, I can have a look at my.old tailgate tomorow, plastic is already off anyway. But I've got an idea its one side, could be wrong though, might have been a different car lol.

Have you checked the loom from body to tailgate, the wires in there break all the time like the door looms
Wishes for more power...

I can't see any splits on either side of the tailgate

If your tailgate plastic is like mine it'll be easy to remove, there was only one screw left in it!

There's about 5/6 screws in mine ill have a look over the weekend and see what's happening behind there
